Our Mission

At JDPC, the Peace Building and Conflict Transformation Team works to promote harmony and resilience in conflict-affected communities within the Catholic Archdiocese of Jos. We aim to prevent violence, mediate disputes, and empower individuals through peace education and transformative dialogue.

Peace Building Mission

SGBV Awareness in Schools

SGBV Awareness & Support in Schools

Creating safe environments in schools where students are empowered to speak out against sexual and gender-based violence. Key activities include:

  • Conducting awareness campaigns and interactive sessions on SGBV.
  • Establishing student-led clubs to promote peer support and advocacy.
  • Training teachers and school counselors on early identification and response.
  • Providing confidential referral pathways for survivors to access help.

This initiative encourages openness, safety, and a culture of respect within school communities.

Mental Health Support

Accessible and Equitable Justice for Women & Youth

Promoting mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) to strengthen community resilience and ensure justice for vulnerable groups. Key focus areas include:

  • Providing MHPSS training to community stakeholders and health workers.
  • Creating safe spaces for women and youth to express trauma and receive support.
  • Strengthening community-based response systems to address emotional and psychological needs.
  • Empowering survivors to access justice and reintegrate into society with dignity.

This initiative fosters healing, inclusion, and sustainable peace in Barkin Ladi and Mangu LGAs.
