Our Mission

At JDPC, our Emergency Preparedness and Response Team is committed to supporting communities experiencing or prone to conflicts through Peace Building initiatives in communities & Secondary School. We aim to enhance safety and resilience by promoting non-violent conflict resolution through the Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) training, Peace Education strategies(Peace Club), Disaster Risk Reduction & Humanitarian Relief.

AVP Training

Alternatives to Violence Project (AVP) Training

AVP training empowers individuals and communities by promoting non-violent approaches to conflict resolution. Key components include:

  • Developing skills for peaceful conflict transformation.
  • Fostering trust and cooperation through interactive workshops.
  • Encouraging personal responsibility and mutual respect.
  • Addressing root causes of violence.

These workshops, conducted over two to three days, bring diverse participants together to share experiences and build practical strategies for non-violent living.

Peace Club

Peace Education strategies(Peace Club)

The Peace Club actively engages secondary schools to promote a culture of peace through targeted strategies. By working directly with students, we aim to foster non-violent conflict resolution and build harmonious relationships. Key strategies include:

  • Conducting peace-building workshops in scools to teach negotiation, mediation, and dialogue skills.
  • Organizing school-based peace education programs to educate students on empathy, tolerance, and conflict resolution.
  • Facilitating peer mediation training for secondary school students to resolve disputes peacefully among peers.
  • Hosting school events to raise awareness about non-violence and strengthen local bonds.

Through regular visits to secondary schools, the Peace Club organizes workshops, training sessions, and events, empowering participants to adopt practical peace strategies and sustain a non-violent lifestyle.

AVP Training

Disaster Risk Reduction

The Disaster Risk Reduction program at JDPC equips communities with proactive strategies to minimize the impact of disasters. By enhancing preparedness and resilience, we aim to protect lives and livelihoods in disaster-prone areas. Key strategies include:

  • Conducting community-based disaster preparedness workshops to teach early warning systems and evacuation planning.
  • Implementing communities safety drills and training programs to educate communities people on disaster response and safety protocols.
  • Establishing local disaster response teams to coordinate relief efforts and provide immediate support during crises.
  • Promoting infrastructure resilience through community-led projects like flood-resistant housing and safe water systems.

Through regular training sessions and collaborative projects in communities , the DRR program builds capacity to reduce risks and ensure swift, effective responses to disasters.

AVP Training

Humanitarian Relief

The Humanitarian Relief program at JDPC offers critical support to communities by providing financial assistance to individuals, enabling them to start small businesses. This initiative aims to alleviate poverty, enhance economic resilience, and promote self-reliance in vulnerable areas. Key strategies include:

  • Distributing micro-grants to community members to launch small-scale businesses like tailoring, farming, or petty trading.
  • Offering entrepreneurship training workshops to equip recipients with business management and financial literacy skills.
  • Establishing support networks to provide mentorship and market access for new entrepreneurs in the community.
  • Monitoring and evaluating progress to ensure sustainable business growth and reinvestment opportunities.

Through regular distributions and ongoing support in communities, the Humanitarian Relief program empowers individuals to build a stable future and contribute to local economic development.

Disaster Risk Reduction Activities

Our DRR activities focus on reducing vulnerability and increasing readiness through community-driven approaches.

  • Preparedness & evacuation training
  • communities safety protocols and drills
  • Formation of local emergency teams
  • Resilient infrastructure development

Impact: More than 15 communities now actively implement disaster risk reduction plans, improving overall safety and preparedness.

Humanitarian Relief Activities

Our relief efforts go beyond aid by creating opportunities for financial independence and dignity through skills and support systems.

Key Initiatives:

  • Micro-grant distribution and follow-up
  • Entrepreneurship and finance training
  • Mentorship for new business owners
  • Impact evaluation and business tracking

Impact: Over 300 individuals empowered to launch businesses, lifting families out of poverty and boosting local economies.
